Spirio Spotlight

Stephen Sondheim’s 90th, Liszt for the Spirit, Debussy for Children, Beethoven’s “Eroica”, and Tom & Jerry.

Steinway & Sons Spirio, the world’s finest high resolution player piano, celebrates the music of Stephen Sondheim; the icon of American Musical Theater turned 90 this year. New tracks include arrangements from Company, Into the Woods, Follies, Sunday in the Park with George, and others.

Liszt’s rarely heard Harmonies poétiques et religieuses, is also featured and is a sublime example of Liszt’s later compositions. It is performed here by Jenny Lin and Adam Tendler.  •  The Beethoven 250th anniversary continues with the monumental Third Symphony, the “Eroica,” in its 4-hand arrangement.  •  A Debussy playlist features beloved works of the French composer: Children’s Corner, Two Arabesques and the Suite Bergamasque.

Finally, our SpirioSync video this month is a classic of a different sort, The Cat Concerto, an animated short from 1947 featuring Tom & Jerry, the cat & mouse duo who engage with Spirio like no pianists ever would.
